The (October) Sydney Home Show

Did you make it to the recent Sydney Home Show in October?  It’s the 2nd time we’ve participated and we think we’ve improved. What do you think? One of the first things we learnt? It’s bi-annually; April and October – We’ll get the hang of it.

If you haven’t been to a Home Show before, let me tell you… It is an explosion of ideas about everything to do with home.  Quite a number of innovative designs as well as the tried and tested.  The prep, the slab, the floors, walls, ceilings and doors; Everything in-between, inside, outside, above and around...  Best to come with a plan, otherwise a long day hunting and gathering can quickly turn into a loooooong day wandering.  And if you’re going to have aching feet at the end of it (and you will) there should be a good reason for it!

Wildwood used this opportunity to showcase a couple of beautiful pieces;

Our “new” Ellis timber leg.

Before Garth and the boys found a solution by changing the design of the bracket, this leg design needed a brace, due to the nature of timber, to run from the middle of the base of one leg to the middle of the base of the other.  It has a lovely ‘clean’ look now.

The table we had on display (above) had a Raw Edge Redgum slab top.  And yes, it was snatched up!  Too fabulous to leave behind like all good Custom Furniture pieces..

We also had a little giveaway running for those who came to visit us, A $500 gift voucher towards the winners chosen custom furniture piece.  They selected a beautiful sideboard – also one of our new designs.

Needless to say, this Home Show was pretty good, if not better for us, in terms of experience and being chill.  We’re beginning to find our groove, but that comes with having an awesome team.

Special thanks to Lachlan for the bump in and bump out (now THAT’s a story) as well as the long days on our feet with Monica and Malcolm too.
