Introduced to Australia in the early 1820s as an ornamental garden tree, Camphor Laurel is not a native hardwood; But who can blame it for wanting to stay and make Australia home? And as result of its galavanting ways, it's found along most of the east coast.
It can reach upwards of 25 metres and ranges in colour from honey yellow to mid browns with rich prominent black/brown grain lines. These lines give Camphor Laurel it's distinct look. When 'finished' this timber is truly unique.
Because of Camphor Laurel's striking character lines and interlocked grain, pieces made from this timber, such as buffets, dining tables, coffee tables allow that amazing character to be featured dramatically and beautifully
Here are some of the Camphor Laurel pieces we’ve had the pleasure to create.
Photos don’t do our furniture justice. We recommend visiting one of our showrooms to see the true texture and warmth of our pieces. The smoothness of the finish and quality of materials can only be experienced in person.
